We believe in providing dream surf trips that are accessible to regular surfers. With uncrowded surf, guaranteed waves, and the chance to experience true surf culture, exploration and a real adventure.
Having travelled the European coast, surfing the winter season in his camper van for the past few years, Matt G (founder of Wagon Surf Adventures) got to know the coastlines pretty damn well. While he loved waking up directly at the surf, being the first one paddling out each morning, the beach fires and general culture and flexibility that comes with this nomadic surf lifestyle, he had to top up the bank balance every so often.
This required him to work in a variety of surf hostels and camps in both Portugal and Morocco. While doing these odd-jobs, Matt realised that although the hostels/camps had more luxury than his regular camper van, the lack of flexibility that inevitably comes with staying in a building meant that customers simply weren’t getting the ‘real’ surf adventure and wave quality that was so easily accessible by van.
This is where the epiphany came… Matt envisioned combining the luxury of the surf camps/hostels with the adventure, wave quality and flexibility he was getting in his van. With the help of a successful crowd funding campaign with IndieGoGO, Matt was able to purchase a retired 7.5 tonne removals truck and spent a few months back in the UK converting it into the ultimate adventure surf vehicle, with all the style and luxury you could imagine. By combining local knowledge, expert forecasting skills and an epic Wagon, Matt developed a recipe for the ultimate surf vacation. He teamed up with a good friend Matt H-B (yep, another Matt), a professional photographer, surf guide and generally great guy, to provide people with the the opportunity to embark on a real surf adventure.
We’ve all dreamt of exclusively chartering motor yachts in Indo, but few of us can afford to make that dream a reality. Well, Wagon Surf Adventures provides the next best thing at a fraction of the price!
