The master bedroom has a full ensuite bathroom, while the spare bedroom has easy access to the second full bathroom. The open concept living space has a sofa bed for use by an extra guest. We supply all linens, along with beach towels.

The kitchen comes equipped with all of your cooking needs, including a double gas burner, microwave, toaster, coffee-maker, and blender, as well as all of the cookware you will need and basic pantry items. There is a cooler bag and ice-packs to help facilitate your grocery shopping or to take down to the beach  and keep your much needed refreshments cold.

The unit comes with full WiFi access and there is a flat screen cable television with chromecast/Smart TV capabilities. Also provided is a Bluetooth speaker for onsite use and a telephone for local calls. Cleaning for longer stays and laundry service can be provided to guests when prearranged.

The property boasts two nice shady patios. Guest have private use of the front veranda, which is equipped with a large picnic table. The backyard area is shared with the upper unit and offers a second shaded veranda with seating, a small side table and a comfy hammock. There is also a dipping pool to refresh yourself after your day’s adventure, surfing, or hard day of laying in the sun. Additionally, there is an outdoor shower to rinse off the sand and salt from your time at the beach.

Langosta is much less crowded than the better known Tamarindo Beach, making it easier to catch more rides safely. Most surfers here use shortboards, but longboards are also possible. The strong surf breaks left (South) and right (North) off the river mouth.  The South side is rife with breaks over a sandy bottom, making it acceptable for all surfing skill levels. The North side breaks in both directions, over a rocky lava reef, inshore and farther out. While Langosta is safe, surfers need to look out for rocks, currents, and rips. When swells are large and break outside the reef it becomes dangerous for beginners. There is however, perfect beach (front of Capitan Suizo Hotel) for learning just a half a mile away. The strong, quick waves of Langosta will offer an exciting challenge to experienced surfers.                              Best time to Surf: low to mid tide when rising.

Across the river is La Piedra del Sapo (front of Barcelo Langosta Hotel), where the breaks can be fast and hollow presenting  you with stand up tubes. This area is suitable for veteran surfers only and they need to be aware of the rocks and reef.                                                                                        Best time to Surf: upcoming low tide with swells coming from the West.

The local mini-supermarket is located just 50 yards away and there a few choice restaurants and bars in easy walking distance. In fact, Matty’s Surf Club is across the street offering delicious food, and a variety of games including a pool table, a foosball table, and a horseshoe pit. There are usually a few local surfers hanging out as well.

While Langosta is a quieter residential area, Casa Pez Vela is situated about 2 miles to the thriving town of Tamarindo and all of its amenities such as tours to surf the famous Witch’s Rock, other water sports, larger supermarkets, ATMs, restaurants, shops, and nightlife. Bicycle, Golf Cart, 4×4, and Car rentals are all available in the area. Walking takes about 15 minutes to the heart of Tamarindo.

So what are you waiting for? Come surf and experience beautiful Costa Rica.
