Dominican Republic > Cabarete Surf camp
The Dominican republic, located in the caribbean, between Cuba and Puerto Rico, covering 2/3 of the island of Hispanolia. Cabarete is a true watersport paradise located on the north coast, and with the international airport of Puerto Plata (POP) 20 minutes away.
The main surf spot is Encuentro, a short 5 minyte drive west of town, the break is great for beginners, intermediates and experts. One of the great features of Encunetro is it's consistency, it rarely goed flat. Wave size varies from shoulder high to double overhead.
The weather
Warm year round! Air and water temperatures never drop below 20 degrees celcius (72 Fahrenheit). So no wetsuit is ever needed, just a rashvest and lots of sunscreen!
Surf season
Year round, winter has bigger north swells, for the more experienced surfers, but as mentioned above, the surf rarely goes flat, for beginners: Encuentro is a great surf beach.
