Chicama works best on south / west swells, but can also be surfed on North swells, it just doesn't have the same lenght ( but still looooong waves.).
The wind here is offshore 365 days per day, creating perfect smooth waves.

Swell comes in year round, picks up South , West and North swells. From March trough to October the south swells provide the longest waves. Durfing the rest of the year the north swells also makes chicama produces long lines, just not as long

6 hours drive north of Lima, but it's easier to take a plane to trujillo, and get a taxi from there 940 minutes)

ACCOMMODATIONS: Eighteen 127.5 square foot double rooms that can accommodate up to three persons with an additional and extremely comfortable bed and and one 256 square foot suite that can accommodate up to 5 beds. Each room has a private bathroom and a private deck with a view to the lineup.

GYM: Legs aren’t strong enough to ride a wave for five minutes? Work on them with our total access bicycles, weight lifting, cardio glide and step machines.

SURFBOARD RENTALS: You may want to avoid the hassle of traveling with your surfboard or avoid damage or loss while abroad. We offer you the possibility of renting one of our boards during your stay. We have a stock of shortboards, long boards and fun boards in sizes that range from 6 to 9 feet. We suggest making reservations 45 days in advance to assure availability upon your arrival. TOWING SERVICE: With the world’s longest left wave you can end up a mile away from your initial starting point. Chicama surfers say this is the only surf spot in the world where legs are more important than arms. Paddling back is almost impossible and walking back cuts down on surf time. The resort has powered watercraft which will be available during surfing hours to allow you to enjoy your surfing experience to the max. Boat assisted surfing allows for more time surfing and less time paddling or walking back to a good starting position.

GIFTSHOP: Catch Chicama good and it will be in your dreams forever. For more material souvenirs, we offer a shop where you will find wetsuits, surfing booties, surfing accessories and supplies, t-shirts and caps, and a fine selection of typical Peruvian handcrafts.

AIRPORT PICK-UP: Upon arrival in Trujillo special vehicles will be waiting to drive you to the resort. Many waves and good times later, we will drive you back to the airport on your departure.
